Los Altos, Calif. -- IronKey, a Los Altos-based maker of portable virtual computing systems, said on Wednesday that it has landed $22 million in a new round of funding, led by new investor Bridgescale Partners. Previous backers Mohr Davidow Ventures and Crosslink Capital also participated in the round, which the company will use to accelerate the adoption of its network access and data protection platform. Founded in 2005, IronKey currently boasts numerous Fortune 500 clients, as well as government clients such as FEMA, NATO and the Department of Homeland Security. The company's software and services are designed to give customers more control over their mobile data through authentication, encryption, identity protection management and privacy features.
