Santa Clara, Calif. -- Intel, the Santa Clara-based chip-making giant, has acquired Toronto-based digital signage firm CongoVision for around $17 million, according to a report by DailyDooh.com. CongoVision develops digital ad displays that can monitor how consumers interact with them, gauging how many users look and for what length of time, and anonymously track gender and the ages of those who pass by.
