San Rafael, Calif. -- Autodesk, a San Rafael-based developer of 3D design, engineering and entertainment software, said on Friday it has completed its $39 million acquisition of Virginia-based Blue Ridge Numerics, a developer of simulation software. The deal was first announced last month. Autodesk said Blue Ridge Numerics' CFdesign technology will enhance its digital prototyping tools with new thermal and fluid flow simulation capabilities. "Autodesk customers can now better understand the impact of fluid flow and heat transfer on their designs before they are built," said Robert "Buzz" Kross, the senior vice president of Autodesk's Manufacturing Industry Group.
