San Mateo, Calif. -- YouTube co-founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen announced on Wednesday they have acquired social bookmarking service Delicious from Sunnyvale-based Yahoo. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Delicious will become part of the pair's new San Mateo-based start-up, AVOS, and "continue to provide the same great service users love." "We spoke with numerous parties interested in acquiring the site, and chose Chad and Steve based on their passion and unique vision for Delicious," said John Matheny, Yahoo's senior vice president of communications and communities. Delicious was founded in 2003 and acquired by Yahoo in 2005. The YouTube founders "plan to work closely with the community over the next few months to develop innovative features to help solve the problem of information overload."
