Hayward, Calif. -- Primus Power, a Hayward-based developer of grid-scale energy storage technology, said on Tuesday it has raised $11 million in a new round of funding. DBL Investors and I2BF Global Ventures joined previous backers Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in the round, which the company will use to continue developing and commercializing its flow battery technology for utilities. "This new round of financing will allow us to develop our first full scale system and quickly move toward commercialization," said CEO Tom Stepien. The company also recently landed grants from the Department of Energy, the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy and the California Energy Commission.
