WSJ: Head of AOL's Silicon Valley Operations to Leave Company

Mountain View, Calif. -- Brad Garlinghouse, one of AOL's most senior executives and leader of its Silicon Valley operations in Mountain View, is leaving the company, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday. Garlinghouse, a former Yahoo executive, was recruited to the company in late 2009 by then-incoming CEO Tim Armstrong, who at the time called him an "all-star in the Internet industry" who would be a "major force for AOL in Silicon Valley." He currently served as president of AOL's applications and commerce group. The departure comes two weeks after AOL posted a net loss of $2.6 million on revenue that fell 6% to $531.7 million in the third quarter. In recent months, the company also has lost Jeff Levick, the president of AOL Advertising, and David Eun, the president of AOL Media.
