San Mateo, Calif. -- Epocrates, a San Mateo-based developer of mobile drug reference tools and interactive services used by the healthcare industry, on Monday named Andrew Hurd as its president and CEO. He will succeed Peter Brandt, who has held both roles on an interim basis. Brandt will take on the newly created role as vice chairman. Hurd most recently served as the chairman and CEO of Carefx, which was acquired by Harris Corp. last year. He previously held senior management positions at WebMD, CenterBeam and QuadraMed.
