Fiorina succeeds Gail Aldrich, who is departing to become the chair of AARP's board of directors. Once named Fortune's Most Powerful Woman in Business for six straight years, Fiorina headed HP from 1999-2005, and in 2010 won the Republican primary for Senate in California before ultimately falling to incumbent Barbara Boxer in the general election She currently serves as vice chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
