San Francisco -- SAP, the German business software giant, said it will acquire Illinois-based Syclo, a developer of enterprise mobile apps and technologies. The company made the announcement Tuesday morning in San Francisco, where it has one of its two Bay Area offices. Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close by midyear, were not disclosed. SAP said the acquisition will bolster its mobile portfolio in industries such as utilities, oil & gas, life sciences and manufacturing. Already an SAP partner, Syclo currently has more than 600 customers in 39 countries, offering mobile apps that help companies extend business systems to a wide range of mobile devices and users.
