Palo Alto, Calif. -- Junar, the Palo Alto-based developer of a cloud-based open data platform, said on Tuesday it has raised $1.2 million in initial funding. Participants included Aurus, Austral Capital and several angel investors in Latin America and the U.S. investing. The company also officially unveiled its core platform, which was tested by more than 200 organizations during an early-access program. Junar said the platform is designed to help users streamline open data projects, from extracting datasets to building graphical views and managing data publishing.
