Palo Alto, Calif. -- 10gen, a developer of database software with U.S. offices in Palo Alto and New York, said on Tuesday it has raised $42 million in a new round of funding, led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA). Previous backers Sequoia Capital, Flybridge Capital Partners and Union Square Ventures also participated in the round, which the company will use to invest in product development and bolster support. 10gen is the maker of NoSQL database platform MongoDB. "We want to change the database market to make MongoDB the best way for companies to build new applications," said Dwight Merriman, the CEO of 10gen.
