Netflix Promotes Bill Holmes to Chief Business Development Officer.

Los Gatos, Calif. -- Netflix, the Los Gatos-based Internet subscription video service, said on Thursday it has promoted Bill Holmes to the newly created role of chief business development officer. Holmes had served as vice president of business development since joining the company in 2008. Under his leadership, Netflix has partnered consumer electronics companies such as Apple, LG, Microsoft, Nintendo, Samsung and Sony to create "Netflix ready" devices for consumers. "Bill has helped make Netflix the killer app for the world's leading electronics companies," said CEO Reed Hastings. "In doing so, Netflix is now available on millions of devices and in over 25 million households in more than 50 countries."
