San Francisco-Based Threadflip Lands $6.5 Million in First Round

San Francisco -- Threadflip, the San Francisco-based developer of a social marketplace for discovering, buying and selling fashion, said it has raised $6.5 million in its first round of funding, led by Shasta Ventures. Lowercase Capital and previous backers First Round Capital and Baseline Ventures also participated in the round, which increases the company's total funding to $8.1 million. Threadflip, which also announced the launch of its iOS mobile app, said it will use the proceeds to roll out a slew of new, enhanced services over the coming months. Tod Francis of Shasta Ventureswill join the company's board of directors.
