Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Rambus, the Sunnyvale-based developer of computer memory technology, on Monday named Ronald Black as its new president and CEO. The news comes nearly four months after the company said that CEO Harold Hughes would retire once a successor was found. Hughes, who will remain on the board of directors, had led the company since 2005. Black previously served as the CEO of MobiWire (formerly Sagem Wireless), UPEK and Wavecom. "Ron's experience in managing through complex businesses at various levels and helping them achieve objectives make him an excellent fit for the next phase of Rambus," said Thomas Bentley, the chairman of Rambus.
