Redwood City, Calif. -- KEYW, a Maryland-based provider of cybersecurity tools to federal intelligence and defense clients, said it will acquire Redwood City-based Sensage, a developer of security information and event management (SIEM) software, in a deal worth up to $34.5 million. Under the agreement, KEYW initially will pay $15 million in cash and $9 million in stock, with the remainder payable if Sensage meets certain revenue targets in the second half of this year. The deal is expected to close next month. KEYW said the acquisition, expected to close next month, will not only expand its commercial market opportunity, but also support its cyber awareness and response platform, known as Project G. "Sensage brings advanced cyber intelligence technology and an executive team with extensive commercial product experience that is highly relevant to bringing Project G to general availability early next year," said Leonard Moodispaw, the president and CEO of KEYW.
